C6000 Series pumps are designed principally to handle clean lubricating liquids within the viscosity range of 33 to 14,000 SSU and temperatures up to 250°F. Their main use is in the wide variety of process applications found in pumping lubricating oils, fuel oils and their derivatives such as additives, grease and bitumen / asphalt.Capable of operating at pressures up to 600 psi (NL version) and 720 psi (SL version) with extremely low net inlet pressure requirements, the C6000 series pump is characterized by its silent, vibration and pulse-free operation. Principal applications include:
FLUID LIMITATIONS Due to the close mechanical tolerances the pump cannot handle abrasive or solid particles, or liquids without lubricating properties. In general, for normally acceptable operating life, the C6000 series pump should only be used on clean lubricating liquids with viscosity in excess of 33 SSU. The C6000 series pump is generally NOT suitable for thinner liquids such as paraffin, kerosene, gasoline, water, etc. Applications involving water based synthetics (HWCF's) can be pumped but require careful selection and should be referred to Plenty Mirrlees Pumps for specific service approval. Since the internal components of the three-screw design operate hydrodynamically, they should not be allowed to dry run. OPERATIONAL LIMITS The operational limits shown below are for standard fitted pumps. Special fitted pumps are available for operation outside these limits.
